Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Filling
Wash, peel, and dice the potatoes and carrots into small cubes.
Combine with green peas, add a pinch of salt, and boil for about 5 minutes, or until soft. Set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a pot. Add onions, curry powder, and garlic powder. Stir briefly until aromatic.
Add the minced beef and stir-fry until it turns pale.
Season with stock cubes, salt, and pepper.
Add the pre-cooked vegetables, mix well, and cook on medium heat for 3 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Step 2: Make the Dough
In a bowl, combine flour, salt, oil, and warm water. Mix until you get a smooth, stretchy dough.
Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 15 minutes.
After resting, knead the dough briefly, then roll out to about 2–3 mm thickness.
Use a round cutter (or glass rim) to cut circles from the dough.
Cut each circle in half to form semi-circles.
Step 3: Shape and Fill the Samosas
Dab water on the straight edge of a semi-circle.
Form a cone by folding and sealing the straight edge.
Fill the cone with a spoonful of filling.
Seal the open edge with a bit of water. Repeat until all dough is used.
Step 4: Fry the Samoosas
Heat vegetable oil over medium heat (not too hot).
Fry the samoosas until they turn light golden brown.
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Enjoy your crispy, golden homemade samoosas!
