👩‍🍳 How to Make Kentucky Butter Cake

1. Prep the Pan & Dry Ingredients:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease and flour a Bundt pan.

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

2. Cream Butter & Sugar:

In a large bowl, cream 1 cup butter and 2 cups sugar for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

3. Add Buttermilk & Dry Mix:

Add vanilla extract.

Mix in buttermilk and dry flour mixture alternately, starting and ending with the dry mix. Blend until just combined.

4. Bake the Cake:

Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan.

Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

5. Make the Butter Sauce:

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup sugar, ¼ cup water, and ½ cup butter.

Bring to a low boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

6. Soak the Cake:

While the cake is still hot and in the pan, poke small holes all over the top using a skewer or toothpick.

Slowly drizzle the warm butter sauce over the cake, letting it soak in.

7. Cool & Serve:

Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan so it absorbs all the sauce.

Invert onto a serving plate once cool.

8. Enjoy!
Serve with a hot cup of coffee or tea ☕. This cake is rich, buttery, moist, and full of old-fashioned Southern flavor!
