Instructions:

Prepare the strawberries:

Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water.

Remove the stems and cut the strawberries in half or quarters, depending on their size.

Set aside a few whole strawberries for decoration if desired.

Prepare the cake batter:

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until the mixture becomes pale and fluffy.

Add the milk and vegetable oil while continuing to whisk.

Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together.

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing gently until you get a smooth batter.

Assembly:

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Grease and flour a round or rectangular cake pan, or line it with parchment paper.

Spread the prepared strawberries evenly in the bottom of the pan.

Pour the batter gently over the strawberries.

For a beautiful presentation, place the reserved whole strawberries on top of the batter.

Baking:

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

Check the doneness by inserting a knife or toothpick into the center of the cake; it should come out clean.

Once baked, allow the cake to cool slightly before removing it from the pan.

Finishing:

Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar.

Decorate with a few fresh strawberries if desired.
