Instructions:
Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions. Divide the batter between two 9-inch round cake pans and bake as directed.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and shortening. Add powdered sugar, marshmallow creme, and vanilla extract. Beat until fluffy.
Once the cakes have cooled, spread the marshmallow mixture over one cake layer. Top with the second cake layer.
Frost the entire cake with chocolate frosting.
Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
