Ingredients
For the Pretzel Dough:

- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
- 1 tbsp sugar (to feed the yeast, not your sweet tooth)
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus a bit more for dusting)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for greasing)
For the Baking Soda Bath:
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp baking soda (this is where the magic happens)
For Topping:
- 1 egg, beaten (for that golden shine)
- Coarse salt (because pretzels need salt like we need coffee)
